Child Advocacy Center
Meet the Garden City Team
Ricardo is a youth advocate. He is currently working on his bachelor’s degree in social work at Fort Hays State University. Ricardo was formally an education major and had aspirations to become a teacher. After working in a homeless shelter and seeing how badly social workers were needed, he decided to switch his major and came to work at the Child Advocacy Center where he can advocate for kids who need it the most. Ricardo used to be one of the kids who were labeled “at risk” so he feels for these kids who struggle in school and need a little more love and motivation. Ricardo wants to be a beacon of hope and inspiration for these kids. He wants to use his story and his past experiences in schools to show kids that they can make it out and be something in this world no matter what cards they were dealt!
