Meet the MMU Forensic Nurses

Nataly Ortiz

Forensic Nurse

My name is Nataly Ortiz I am a forensic nurse examiner at WKCAC. I received my LPN through Garden City Community College in 2016 and my ADN through Dodge City Community College in 2018. I am currently in the process of starting my Bachelors Degree through FHSU. I am a wife and a mom to 3 beautiful children. My hobbies include spending time with my kiddos, watching movies, traveling and visiting new places. I am an adrenaline junky, I love rollercoasters, skydiving, etc. When I am not at home being a mom and a wife or planning my next trip I am at work. My role as a forensic nurse at WKCAC mobile unit is to screen children for physical and sexual abuse. My goal as a nurse is to provide a nurse/child relationship with the kiddos I have the privilege to assist. Every child I see leaves an important in-print in my life, through my assessment I am able to obtain not only evidence but a voice for each child I meet. I am a child advocate, that is what makes my job at WKCAC very rewarding. I am blessed to be able to provide the services to the many counties we serve, you can find me at the local offices or on the road in our mobile unit

Evette Garcia

Forensic Nurse

My name is Evette Garcia I am a registered nurse, I have completed my nursing degree at Garden City Community College. I have five children which I enjoy watching each one of them grow into their own person (they also keep me on my toes). I am a forensic nurse at the WKCAC. My role in the mobile medical unit is to provide detailed medical exams on children who are victims of sexual abuse. Not only do I address the children's physical and emotional needs, but we also collect evidence and provide our medical testimony in the courtroom. I enjoy working at the WKCAC because of the impact we have on the children and their families.
